Justin is in his final year of his Bachelors of Education - with a goal to teach science at the high school level. He has gained experience working with a wide variety of children through his practicum teaching placements in both elementary and high school classrooms and has enjoyed practicing positive behaviour management techniques focusing on engagement through inquiry based learning and inclusion strategies to be sure that all the children's needs are being met.
Justin is also a very active member of a Kingston-based non-profit organization called Camp Outlook where he leads overnight camping trips for local youth; utilizing a child-focused strategy rooted in humour, adventure and respect to encourage self-esteem development and overall happiness.
Aly recently graduated with a Bachelors of Education, and a passion to teach science and geography at the elementary level! Her love for science is centered around inquiry based learning and encouraging children’s curiosity to lead the way for new discovery!
Aly has gained experience working with children in her practicum teaching placements and volunteering at an overnight camp on Moira Lake where she was a camper herself for many years. Aly prioritizes making strong connections with the children she works with, focusing on inclusion and interest-based activities.
She is excited to utilize her teaching knowledge, love for the outdoors and sense of adventure to make this summer amazing for all of the campers she meets!
Ian has been teaching with the TLDSB for the past 5 years and is excited to spend his summer working in the outdoor education setting once again.
Having spent the past 10 summers guiding canoe trips, working at outdoor education centres, and running summer camps; Ian brings an excitement about play, adventure based learning, and connecting with nature to the Great Moose team this summer.
Kayla is an Ontario certified teacher, having completed her degree at Lakehead University in Orillia, focusing on environmental education, geography and psychology.
She is an avid sportswoman - receiving the Athletic Merit Award for continuous dedication, participation and leadership throughout her 4 years of high school at St. Dominic CSS in Bracebridge. Her passion for sports and adventure led her to teaching where she was a rock climbing instructor and skating coach for the city of Orillia.
She has been teaching at GMA Academy on a part-time basis this past spring season and has enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about outdoor education.
Molly is currently heading into her 3rd year of a Bachelor of Education at Nipissing University on her path to teaching at the primary level in the future.
She is an accomplished swimmer and basketball player, which has led to coaching, teaching swimming lessons and taking on a role as water safety instructor throughout local community.
She is excited to develop camp activities that are meaningful, creative and fun!
