Summer Teachers 2023 - so far : )

Molly Bowman

This is Molly's third summer at Great Moose Adventures, working with the Junior campers,  helping out at Kahshe River with her NLS qualifications and creating inquiry-based programs for all of our campers.

Molly is currently heading into her 5th year of a Bachelor of Education at Nipissing University on her path to teaching at the primary level in the future through the concurrent program

She is an accomplished swimmer and basketball player, which has led to coaching, teaching swimming lessons and taking on a role as water safety instructor in her local community centre.

Ocean Hashem

Ocean is an OCT certified teacher who has taught in primary education for the last 9 years and recently completed her Masters of Education with a specialization in Teaching and Learning. She has a diverse experience in teaching as her career started in the UK and she now teaches English to young students internationally on the weekends. She is passionate about getting kids outside and excited about learning through fun, hands-on activities that are tailored to their interests and ways of learning.  She is currently teaching music for TLDSB and is excited for her summer role as a Middler teacher.

Emerald Smeaton

Emerald spent this past year at GMA Acadmey teaching phonics, and POE (physical outdoor education). This will be her 2nd summer working with the Middlers and she is excited to bring many of the games and activities that she learned this year to our summer campers.

Emerald is also super excited to be attending Teachers College at Lakehead University in Orillia this coming year on her way to a career as a teacher.  Overall, she enjoys playing outdoors, as she grew up camping with her family, and participated in sports such as soccer, basketball, and cheerleading.

Keep posted for more teachers coming soon......
